Lakeside Goolwa is a family owned residential development in Goolwa North, with the vision for the Development being to provide exceptional lifestyle options for over 50’s.
GREENHILL was initially engaged to review the stormwater management for the Development and then subsequently to complete the design for Stages 2, 3 and 4. Stage 4 of the Development included conversion of the former motel buildings into villa style dwellings, adding to the diversity of dwellings offered by the village. Lakeside Goolwa is a residential park that provides approximately 150 dwellings.
GREENHILL provided the civil engineering services including road and pavement design, road drainage and stormwater management design, sewerage and potable water systems design. GREENHILL also coordinated with Distribution Power Design for the provision of electrical reticulation and street lighting design, as well as with the Alexandrina Council for the required extension of the township vacuum sewer system.
The stormwater management review undertaken by GREENHILL resulted in a more efficient and effective system, with stormwater treatment provided by a constructed pond simulating the natural billabong systems so typical along the River Murray. Importantly, the stormwater management system met with the stringent conditions for the Development including the key stormwater quality objectives for release of water to the River Murray. The result was an attractive, low cost stormwater management system that also minimizes maintenance.
GREENHILL worked closely with the Alexandrina Council, Service Authorities and other project team consultants to take this development from concept to completion. GREENHILL were engaged to undertake the tender call and assessment, and then to act as Superintendent for the construction.
The project was successfully completed in late 2018.
